Wednesday night was the Relief Society activity hosted by Sis. Grunig where we were able to make a piece of jewelry valued at $5.00. Sis. Grunig displayed all types of jewlery she has made from watch bands, to necklaces, to earrings and bracelets. There were THOUSANDS of beads to choose from and pick through. It was a really fun experience. It was also very wonderful getting together with all the ladies from our ward and getting in touch with our "Creative side." Sometimes I think that I am not "the creative type", but I remember what
President Utchdorf once said when he spoke in the General Relief Society Meeting October 2008. He said, "If that is how you feel, think again, and remember that you are spirit daughters of the most creative Being in the universe. Isn’t it remarkable to think that your very spirits are fashioned by an endlessly creative and eternally compassionate God? Think about it—your spirit body is a masterpiece, created with a beauty, function, and capacity beyond imagination." Thank you Sis. Grunig for helping us all have an opportunity to create.
I didn't get a chance to get a lot of pictures at the activity. I was having such a fun time talking with all the sisters, but I did get a picture of my finished product:
I made this necklace for my daughter Alice for Christmas. It definitely has that "Diva Flare".
Thanks again Sis. Grunig. I had a really wonderful time.
We would LOVE to see some of the jewelry YOU made if you would like to share. Just email me (mcannon01@gmail.com) a picture of what you made (maybe even you wearing it one day) and I'll make a post soon displaying the Creative Side of our Relief Society.
