Presidency Lesson: The Temple

Sister Katie Wright gave a great lesson on Temples.

She started by asking two questions,
-Why are we commanded to attend the temple?
-What are the blessings of going to the temple?

After the questions were posed, she opened it up for discussion to answer these questions. Some of the responses included the following:

Why does the Lord want us there?
-families are the center there
-He can be there with us
-Our Relative's work can be done there
-Essential to our Salvation
-We are strengthened and Fortified against the world
-The temple is "college" version of Gospel Education
-Lifts us up

What Blessings do we see from attending?
-At peace with Life
-Builds relationships and creates unity in the home
-Gives us an eternal perspective
-Helps us appreciate the world and our bodies
-We feel the spirit stronger and are able to make clearer decisions
-We can receive personal revelation
-Going as a ward bonds the ward together
-Helps us learn life lessons
-IT IS SO CLOSE!

Katie also used a few quotes from the October 2010 Ensign (the special edition all about temples). If you haven't read it go here for more study material.
